Description
The integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in language education is reshaping traditional teaching by creating more personalized, efficient, and interactive learning experiences. This study examines major applications of AI in language teaching, including adaptive learning systems, automated feedback, natural language processing for conversation practice, and speech recognition for pronunciation training. Widely used tools allow learners to practice independently, receive instant feedback, and develop greater confidence in communication. For educators, AI reduces workload by generating resources, streamlining assessment, and supporting differentiated instruction. Drawing on a literature review, case studies, and teacher–learner perspectives, the findings reveal that AI enhances learner autonomy, engagement, and motivation, while also improving teaching efficiency. However, challenges such as data privacy, technological accessibility, and the need to preserve human interaction remain significant. Overall, the study argues that AI should complement, rather than replace, traditional pedagogy and that its thoughtful integration can make language education more inclusive, accessible, and effective.
