Description
Abstract
Driven by the shift towards learner-centered education and knowledge construction through solving real-world problems, Problem-Based learning (PBL) has demonstrated its effectiveness globally over the past five decades. This study investigates the integration of AI-driven virtual simulations and automated feedback into a Learning Management System (LMS) within a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) framework to improve students’ public speaking skills. Employing a quasi-experimental design, the research involved two intact classes at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, divided into an experimental group (AI-supported LMS instruction) and a control group (traditional instruction). Data was gathered through pre-and-post performance assessments and an online survey evaluating students’ perceptions, engagement levels, and attitudes toward AI-integrated learning. The results indicate that embedding AI tools within the PBL cycle significantly improved students’ public speaking performance in fluency and confidence, while fostering greater learner autonomy.
