Description
The strong development of ChatGPT has opened up many opportunities to support foreign language learning, especially translation learning. However, using this tool also poses many challenges for students if they do not know how to exploit it properly. This study aims to investigate the difficulties of third-year students majoring in English at Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) in the process of using ChatGPT to learn translation. This survey uses a mixed-method approach, combining questionnaires and semi-structured interviews to collect quantitative and qualitative data from students majoring in English. Expected results show that students often have difficulties in writing prompts effectively, evaluating translation quality, identifying translation errors, and tend to depend on ChatGPT. In conclusion, these findings are expected to help learners apply ChatGPT more optimally in the process of practicing translation skills.
